Tailwhip
In the dusty Mexican border town of El Centro, 13-year-old BMX rider Erik chases his dreams, fueled by the admiration of his hero: his father. This visceral, tactile film captures Erik’s world as a rough landscape of impressions and obstacles—emotional and physical challenges that demand grit and determination to overcome.
The raw imagery immerses us in the mind of a kid from a small, sweltering town. Though Erik has seen little of the outside world, his father’s unwavering support has kept his dreams alive. For Erik, his father, and every kid riding through El Centro’s streets, this is the prequel to a story of triumph over adversity, of hope blooming in an unlikely place.
